Remembering what God has done

    Today’s Verse:

    I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
    -Psalm 119:10-11

    Today’s Encouragement:

All of us are so forgetful. Every day, God does the amazing. When He does, we rejoice and then forget a few days later. God can do the impossible and then we turn around a forget a few days later.

King David, in Psalm 119, wanted to be constantly reminded of God’s Word so that He wouldn’t stray away into his own selfish ways.

He used phrases throughout the psalm like “meditate on,” “delight in,” and “rejoice in” God’s instruction. He wanted to stay in a state of constant mindfulness towards God. His mindset was that if he could stay focused on God’s Word, His ways, His commands, then he might not stray, wander away, or sin against God.

We should all strive to have that same mentality every day. A deep hunger and desire for God and His ways. There are so many reasons to study God’s Word every day, but here are a few:

    - Study His Word daily so you don’t wander away
    - Study to know God’s Heart for us
    - Study to have direction for your life
    - Study to learn what not to do

Let’s seek God daily through His Word with a passion unlike anything else we pursue in this life.

    2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

    Today’s Prayer:

Father God, help me to seek you with all my heart. Help me to deny myself and submit to your ways. May we trade our ways for yours and our thoughts for yours. You know way better than we do. May we always remember that you are for us and your instruction is for our benefit. In Jesus’ name, amen.
